We will visit tapas bars and cafes that are local favorites. You will experience the passion that Valencians have for delicious food.

  • You’ll learn everything about the fascinating world of Spanish tapas in family run eateries, where there is history, passion and love in every recipe!

We’ll start the morning at the cathedral with an introduction to the old town. Then we’ll move on to a traditional café nearby, to taste freshly made Horchata.

You’ll learn how this unique Valencian drink Is made, and how to drink it like a local paired with a deliciously light and fluffy pastry (called a Farton).

After breakfast, on the way to the Central Market, we’ll stop for a quick taste at local’s favourite candy’s store, we’ll explore the old part of the city with its colourful buildings, beautiful squares, and you’ll get to feel the great vibe of the area.

At our third stop, we’ll visit a city landmark that’s almost a hundred years old, the incredible Central Market. Here you’ll learn about the most traditional Valencian dishes, and of course taste the best Spanish ham (acorn fed Iberian ham).

While in the market we’ll join the locals at a farm-to-table tapas bar, to sample the house special - a gourmet sandwich made with delicious pork loin, mouth-watering sheep’s cheese and a secret homemade sauce!

On the way to the next mouthwatering experience, you’ll see one of the most emblematic buildings in the old town — La Lonja — and a few other cultural gems.

We’ll then head to one of the very best, traditional tapas bars, which is well-loved by Valencians. This place has always specialized in freshly cooked fish, while you are indulging here, you’ll get all the tips and tricks to enjoy tapas like a local.

At the end of our food journey we will visit a tienda de ultramarinos, a type of store where, traditionally, locals could find products which came from overseas after the discovery of America. Having a drink and a quick bite to eat while shopping, was common in these places.

While here, you’ll sample delectable, mouth-watering Spanish croquetas (made with acorn fed ham) while sipping the most authentic Spanish aperitif! It’s the perfect final treat for your taste buds!
